More Bath Time Moments
May 21st, 2007Joy is learning to float on her back to the tune of “twinkle twinkle little star” as sung by her swim instructor. Here she is practicing at home.
She also dives for rings…deep dives. She loves this and her sense of accomplishment is immense. Here is her first go round with the new “diving sticks” we got for home. (”I got an alligator”)
Big News
May 14th, 2007Joy is potty trained. 27 months of age and no more diapers!
Its a wonderful thing to see so much pride in such a little person!
Swim Lessons
May 14th, 2007Joy has been going to swim lessons every monday now for a while. She loves going…loves wearing her “akini” and squeals with delight when she hits the pool. Watching someone learn to swim is fascinating. It feels so much like second nature to those of us who have been doing it forever. But for the little ones it is a slow process with occasional breakthroughs.
She glides underwater pretty well now (short distances).

She is getting better at the underwater retrieval of rings…a way under dunk here, and she came up with two rings.
This is actually one of the hardest things to do…especially for Joy…letting go…relaxing…not moving. The all important back float!
And of course…hitting the showers with Dad. Not long ago she needed a lot of help with this (lots of protesting) she now does it on her own with pride.
Trampoline
May 12th, 2007I got this mini trampoline for Joy. She is a fast moving kid always on the go and never noticeably tired. I thought this might provide a way for her to use up some excess energy and/or distract her from behavior glitches. We’ll see.
Bath Hair
May 12th, 2007Joys hair is growing longer (bigger).
China Gift
May 7th, 2007Joy got this outfit from her Nana who just returned from a trip to China.
At School
May 7th, 2007Joy with her pals…and mirroring the photographer (a parent who has been shooting the kids in their native habitat). Very Cute.
Day to Day
May 3rd, 2007We do swim lessons on Monday mornings… a very good time for Joy. She is in love with her bikini and happy to model it.
We are also getting much more into reading now. Her book of the moment is the classic “Where the Wild Things Are”. Here she is with dad in her reading corner…smiling for the camera as usual.
And one morning in the studio with mom.
